Steam chat keeps popping up. It's rather annoying.
Steam chat keeps popping up LavaHawk-15985 March 16, Been playing this game since beta 1 and it’s been amazing but this bug keeps coming back. But when I press A, it opens the chat window also. Jul 21, 2020 · Today I was playing GTR2, and in the middle of the game, it minimized (I thought at first it was a CTD), I was at the desktop, then a Steam message popped up something about some squad game that I had no idea I was even following. Go to settings, scroll down until you find "Controller", click that, then from there scroll down until you find "Desktop Layout", click on edit, disable Steam Input, this Nov 2, 2022 · The chat box popping up is a steam one. I had to expose the hidden items on my task bar to shut steam down. yet when someone messages me on discord while in a full screen game; a annoying shitty window pops up in the top left of my screen. nub. It does not even try to work well. The keyboard looks different from any pic I have seen of the steam keyboard in forums and must have been updated. I have disabled BETA, I have exited Big Screen Picture Mode, and other things as well. This is clearly a bug of some sort, but is there a workaround for now? I've turned all notifications off. Has anyone figured out how to do this? Apr 7, 2020 · The problem is neither notification pop-ups or docking the chat to the friends list(lolwut?), it is the opening of a new window when a message is received, as the thread title states. How do I disable this as it's both annoying as fuck and keeps blocking UI elements of games. This would be different if it was not out of Early Access. I have been using the left analog stick in game with no problems and then BAAM out of nowhere this annoying keyboard has been popping up and I cant get rid of it. for doing it on a windows shortcut of steam (not on windows startup) just add the same string of text to the target shortcut under proprties. I am using Windows 10 and have uninstalled and reinstalled Steam to no avail. Probably Valve does not know themselves what exactly to address there. Also why cant I set the back button to build mode? This controller support seems gimped just because you cant set stuff to some settings. It's like everyone who replied to this thread was esl or something. I fixed it by enabling the option, click sign in, close the window, exit Steam, reopen Steam, you should be online and the window doesn't pop up. The Chat keybind for Controller is DPad Up. In my experience this should stop the friends list from starting on its own; however I have read mixed reports in the past. For the first time in more than 10 years, I've disabled Steam launch on start-up to avoid this pop-up. Absolute madness that I cannot communicate with any friends on Steam using chat because of this!
